 Dear Art Lover,

CASA Vertigo TU/e and the Curatorial Research Collective have invited architect Stefan de Bever to exhibit his drawings and sketches to the general public in the exhibition space, Plaza Vertigo.

“The line is created by a certain movement of your hand and can express a lot in itself.”
Stefan de Bever

Silent Lines

Is the designation Stefan uses when he talks about the countless drawings he has made over the years. The drawings are observations of everyday life and a source of inspiration for his work as an architect and designer. While sketching, Stefan collects ideas and the world around him is visualized. The sketches capture the lively informality of Stefan as a spectator.

Why at TU/E

The main contribution of this exhibition is the role of sketches as silences in an architectural perception. Students are encouraged in architectural studies to sketch. It is a skill used to document a range of elements, ideas and spaces. Stefan’s sketches show observations in an (urban) landscape, images of the real world imbued with transience.
